Instructional Specialist

An Instructional Specialist is an educational leader who works directly with teachers to enhance teaching strategies, implement curriculum, and improve student learning outcomes. Bridging the gap between educational theory and classroom practice.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Cirriculum Implementation: Develops, refines, and ensures district curricula align with state educational standards and are implemented with fidelity.
• Teacher Coaching & Mentoring: Observe classroom instruction, provide instructive feedback, working one on one with teachers, and models effective teaching techniques.
• Data Analysis: Interprets student performance data from standardized tests and local assessments to help teachers adjust instructional focus and target interventions for struggling students.
• Professional Development: Design, organizes, and facilitates job-embedded workshops, training sessions, and grade-level meetings.
• Resource Management: Evaluate and recommend textbooks, software, media, and other instructional materials.

Typical Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum and Education, or a related field.
• Certification: Valid state teaching license or specific endorsement in a core subject.
• Experience: 3-5 years of exemplary, proven classroom teaching experience.
