Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions. Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring policy and procedure adherence. Provide patient and family education about care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information. Assist physicians with bedside procedures and prepare patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries. Monitor patient lab work for trends and report abnormal results for necessary action. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to policies, procedures, and infection control protocols. Document all pertinent patient care information accurately and timely in the medical record. Participate in quality improvement and research activities by engaging in unit‑based initiatives and evidence‑based practice projects. Respond effectively to emergencies by providing necessary interventions and coordinating with the healthcare team to stabilize patients. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. Basic computer skills – navigate Microsoft Windows‑based programs. Fluent in English (reading, verbal, and written). Use equipment to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse oximetry, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (Pyxis). Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking, and strong communication skills. Commit to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation class. Frequent independent judgment and sound professional judgment in clinical situations. Prioritize multiple duties and work calmly under stressful situations. General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, and pharmacological process in medication administration. Maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to support the facility mission. Communicate effectively (verbal and written) to lead overall professional nursing services. Float to appropriate departments within scope, skill/ability, and credentials. Organizational and multi‑tasking skills, knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures, and teamwork within a unit. Effective verbal and oral communication and problem‑solving skills. EKG interpretation (based on patient population). Education Associate's of Nursing – Required Bachelor's of Nursing – Preferred Work Experience 1+ years acute care hospital experience – Preferred Licenses and Certifications BLS – Required Registered Nurse (RN) – Required Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) – Preferred Pediatric ER Assess, Recog & Stabilization (PEARS) – Preferred Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) – Preferred Certified EKG Technician (CET) – Preferred Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – Preferred Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) – Preferred NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Preferred Oncology Nurse Society (ONS) – Preferred S.T.A.B.L.E.
