SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist in the Regional Contracts Department of NAVSUP FLC SD GF. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- You will serve as a Division Director, a warranted Contracting Officer with unlimited authority to sign contracts of all types.
- You will be responsible for providing full contract support to fleet and shore activities in the FLCSD area of responsibility.
- You will work very closely with each employee of the team and in face-to-face meetings with customer activity representatives in planning, developing, and establishing the contractual strategy for each major acquisition.
- You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; set immediate priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
- You will establish performance standards and evaluate work performance of subordinates.
- You will interview candidates for positions and make recommendation for appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions.
- You will responsible for planning, managing, and executing a comprehensions contracting and acquisition program to meet the needs of customer activities.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
