Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily site maintenance tasks as well as contractor safety oversite. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of strong safety performance. Examples of daily maintenance duties include performing daily rounds, issuing permits, equipment troubleshooting, preparing equipment for maintenance and subsequent operation, and inspections.

During your shift as a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will use OSHA safety training/knowledge while ensuring safe operations and functionality of site equipment. Will use BASF safety and security protocols for facilitation of contractor orientations, writing and issuing safe work permits, reviewing scopes of work and job plans, performing lockout/tagout of equipment and utilities, and ensuring that equipment and mechanical activities are completed. Maintain the Preventive Maintenance program for office and lab buildings, including completing work orders and coordinating with contractors for small equipment and minor building repairs. Troubleshoot and repair lab and building equipment. Coordinate external vendors for independent commercial work. Execute building maintenance, to include but not limited to replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles and door knobs; minor plumbing repairs, carpentry and painting. Complete daily walkthroughs and inspections of buildings, infrastructure and utilities using pre?established check sheets. Perform office moves, including moving furniture, disconnecting/reconnecting equipment, and installing wall furniture. Conduct setup and breakdown for site events, including rearranging conference rooms. Operate pallet jacks and hand-trucks. Handle incoming deliveries including samples, mail, equipment, and supplies. Pack and ship domestic samples and equipment. Results oriented, dependable, and safety conscious. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Formula for Success: High School Diploma/GED and 2 -5 years of operations experience in a maintenance environment. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs., walk up and down stairs/ladders and be on your feet most of your 8-hour shift. Ability to communicate to internal customers, vendors and contractors status updates both verbally and written. Experience that demonstrates behaviors in safety performance.
