The Opportunity In this role, you’ll develop real-time embedded software for custom Linux-based platforms operating in demanding, mission‑critical environments. You’ll work across kernel layers, hardware interfaces, and low‑level data systems - collaborating with hardware, FPGA, and analytics specialists to deliver integrated solutions. This is a chance to build resilient, high‑throughput software that directly impacts transportation, national security, and critical infrastructure operations. Design, develop, and optimize real‑time embedded software for custom Linux‑based hardware Work on low‑level hardware interfaces, DMA, and high‑speed data transfer Build Linux kernel drivers and user‑space APIs for custom hardware Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (hardware, FPGA, analytics) to ship reliable products Profile and debug systems for low‑latency, high‑reliability operation Be part of a company that’s genuinely engineering‑first, not bureaucracy‑heavy What You’ll Bring Degree in CS, EE, CE, or related field 3+ years of embedded software or low‑level systems experience Strong in C/C++ or Rust (Rust a plus) Experience with embedded Linux , Yocto/Buildroot, and kernel or driver‑level development Skilled in debugging with GDB, JTAG, oscilloscopes , and similar tools Comfortable with Git , CI/CD, and scripting (Python/Bash) Familiarity with CAN, ARINC‑429, MIL‑STD‑1553 , or related protocols Knowledge of DSP, real‑time processing , or hardware/software integration Must have US citizenship and security clearance.
