Databricks/Lead Data EngineerRequired Skills & Experience- Strong experience with Databricks Lakehouse, Delta Lake, and Medallion Architecture.Experience designing REST APIs and service principal-based integrations.Advanced SQL, Python, and PySpark expertise.Experience with enterprise data architecture, modeling, and pipeline development.Strong knowledge of Unity Catalog, data governance, lineage, and security controls.Proficiency with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD deployment processes.Experience integrating Databricks with Power BI or similar BI tools.Ability to balance strategic architecture leadership with hands-on development.Nice to Have Skills & Experience- Knowledge or Prod experience knowing how to implement and build APIs with ClaudeExperience with Databricks Apps or custom application development.Familiarity with React, JavaScript, or modern web frameworks.Experience supporting cloud-based enterprise data and analytics platforms.Job DescriptionAn employer is seeking a hands-on Databricks/Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data and analytics solutions. This individual will provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in development, architecture, governance, and deployment activities.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect and develop solutions leveraging the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and Delta Lake.Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) data models and pipelines.Build scalable data engineering solutions using SQL, Python, and PySpark.Design enterprise data models, analytical marts, metadata frameworks, and data pipelines.Develop Databricks applications and API-driven integrations.Implement data governance, lineage, RBAC, metadata management, and Unity Catalog best practices.Design and support solutions across Development, UAT, and Production environments.Integrate Databricks with Power BI and other enterprise reporting platforms.Drive CI/CD, source control, and automated deployment practices using GitLab and Git.Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and hands-on troubleshooting support.
