Digital ProducerThe Digital Producer leads the transition from broadcast-focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through active daily example; providing training in methods, processes and tactics; as well as in creating/editing original content beyond that which is produced for on-air.Writes stories for the web and other digital platformsShoots and edits content for digitalProduces reports for all platformsReviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelinesExecutes winning strategy for station contentExpert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platformsUse our social media and website to build and reinforce brand recognition and drive viewers to televisionDetermines a story's emphasis, length, and format, and organizes material accordinglyResearches and analyzes background information related to news stories to provide complete and accurate informationGathers information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functionsPitches on-brand local and trending stories during meetingsChecks reference materials, internal files, internal resources, public records, official social media accounts, and other reliable sources to obtain relevant factsEnsures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production qualityBuilds and calendars digital campaigns to promote local shows and specialsPerforms other duties as assignedFinds new ways to use social media and our website to engage with viewersRequirements & Skills:Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferredProficiency in Associated Press style, and Adobe products: Photoshop, Express, PremiereWorking knowledge of ENPS and the ability to identify content opportunities that can be adapted across broadcast, digital and social platformsCSS, Flash and other relevant technology skills are a plusMaintain positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departmentsRespond positively to feedback
