Location : Remote; preference for candidates based within the territory or in Houston, TX

Reports to : Company President

Travel : Approximately 50% within the assigned region

Company Overview

Our customer is a valve manufacturer serving the natural gas market. They are seeking a Territory Manager for the Western United States to support the growth of the company in the assigned territory. The Territory Manager will promote steel and polyethylene ball valves for natural gas distribution, working closely with distribution partners to develop business with local gas utilities.

Role Overview

\n

Reporting directly to the Company President, the Territory Manager will manage and grow the natural gas distribution valve business across the assigned territory. This person will strengthen existing customer and distributor relationships, identify new business opportunities and drive regional sales growth.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Sales strategy: Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets for ball valves within the natural gas utilities sector.
\n
• Customer relationships: Build and maintain relationships with natural gas utilities, understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
\n
• Distribution partners: Work closely with local distribution partners to support product distribution and customer service and develop mutually beneficial relationships.
\n
• Product expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of the ball valve portfolio and its applications, providing technical guidance to customers and distribution partners.
\n
• Presentations and proposals: Deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations and proposals that communicate product value.
\n
• Sales performance: Set and monitor sales targets, track progress and take corrective action to meet or exceed goals.
\n
• Forecasting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports to support inventory and production planning.
\n
• Market analysis: Identify key customer segments, emerging trends and competitive positioning through market research.
\n
• Team collaboration: Share insights, opportunities and best practices across regions and contribute to a cooperative team culture.
\n

Qualifications and Skills

\n

The ideal candidate will bring 2–5 years of industrial sales experience and a foundational understanding of ball valves gained through work with a valve manufacturer, distributor or gas utility. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential, together with the ability to understand customer requirements and explain technical product features clearly. The role requires a proactive, organized professional who can manage a territory independently, build lasting relationships with customers and distribution partners, and collaborate effectively with colleagues across regions. Willingness to travel approximately 50% within the assigned territory is required.
