Banquet Manager

Description The Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing all banquet and event operations to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient execution, and compliance with hotel standards. This position manages banquet staff, coordinates with culinary and sales teams, and ensures successful execution of meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events. Essential Job Functions Oversee the daily operations of banquet events and functions Coordinate event setup, service execution, and breakdown according to banquet event orders (BEOs) Supervise banquet staff including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management Ensure outstanding guest satisfaction through professional and attentive service Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate event expectations to team members Collaborate with Sales, Catering, Culinary, and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution Monitor labor costs, staffing levels, and operational expenses Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations Inspect banquet rooms and event spaces for cleanliness, presentation, and readiness Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally Maintain inventory and coordinate equipment and supply needs Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training banquet associates Support hotel initiatives, brand standards, and service culture programs Qualifications Previous banquet, food and beverage, or hospitality management experience preferred Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays Knowledge of banquet service standards and event operations Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in hotel management or POS systems preferred Alcohol awareness certification preferred (TIPS, ServSafe, etc.) Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally Ability to bend, stoop, and move banquet equipment as needed Ability to work in indoor and outdoor event environments Education High school diploma or equivalent required Associate or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred This position operates in banquet halls, meeting spaces, kitchens, and hotel public areas. The Banquet Manager must maintain professionalism and composure during high-volume events and changing operational demands.
