Accounting Manager

A growing transportation and logistics company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its Accounting and Billing teams. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role oversees financial reporting, month-end close, intercompany accounting, audits, and a team of approximately 10 employees. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative, hands-on leader looking to make an impact in a stable and growing organization. What You'll Do
- Lead and develop two team leads and a department of approximately 10 accounting and billing professionals.
- Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and intercompany accounting for multiple entities.
- Review financial results, prepare audit schedules, and partner with leadership on budgeting, banking, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage compliance reporting, insurance audits, and annual 1099 preparation.
- Support billing, accounts receivable, collections, and cross-functional process improvements.
- Partner with the VP of Finance and executive leadership to provide financial analysis and recommendations.
- Drive process improvements while ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and a strong system of internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
- Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and intercompany accounting.
- Experience working in a multi-entity organization.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong communication abilities.
- Transportation, logistics, or manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with AS/400 or QuickBooks is preferred.
