Preschool After Care Teacher Assistant

Now Hiring: After Care Teacher's Assistant / Aide & Substitute Part-Time
Peace Rose Montessori School in Sayreville, NJ is looking for a responsible and caring individual to join our After Care team! Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:45 PM – 6:00 PM. On Early Dismissal Days: 11:45 AM – 6:00 PM. Must be 18 or older.
What You'll Do:
- Plan and assist lead teacher with a warm, engaging afternoon program including music and movement, outdoor play, crafts, storytelling, art, and games
- Create weekly and seasonal art projects
- Actively interact and play alongside children: building with LEGOs, dancing, reading stories, or playing board games
- Greet families warmly at pick-up time
- Serve as a liaison between parents and the lead teacher, communicating any important information from the day
- Keep afternoon teachers informed of any After Care updates via note, phone, email, or text
- Assist with cleaning and preparing classrooms and restrooms for the following day
During School Hours/Substitute Coverage:
- Support the lead teacher with classroom activities, child care, and classroom management
- Help maintain a tidy and organized classroom environment
- Step in to cover classrooms as needed throughout the school
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 or older
- Experience working with young children preferred (babysitting, childcare, or parenting experience counts!)
- Reliable, flexible, and patient with a genuine love for children
