Open date: November 21, 2025 Most recent review date: Friday, Dec12,2025 at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Nov9,2026 at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) Position Description The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering within the Jacobs School of Engineering at UC San Diego is conducting an open search for a non‑tenure track Assistant Project Scientist in the area of Biomedical Interfaces and Systems. The successful candidate will develop a microfluidic pump, integrate it with an implantable pulse generator (IPG) system, and perform hermetic sealing and passivation validated in the pig animal model for 3–6months of programmable drug delivery. Project Scientists are academic researchers who are expected to make significant and creative contributions to a research team, but are not necessarily leaders of the research team. They may publish and carry out research or creative programs with supervision by a faculty member. Project Scientists may serve as Co‑Principal Investigators but not as Principal Investigators. University and public service are encouraged but not required, and they do not have formal teaching responsibilities.
