Apply here today!Oklahomans Feeding Oklahomans.Assistant Deli ManagerPrimary ResponsibilitiesGreet, assist, and ring out all customers politelyTo initiate and/or make recommendation regarding the hiring, firing, discipline, promotion, and evaluation of all Deli Department personnel. To assist in the orienting and training of all new Deli Department Employees and retrain employees when necessaryTo assure the safety of self, customers, and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediatelyTo understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of an electronic cash register, scanner, scale and intercom system.To review the perishable department Communication Board daily for updated materials and follow the guidelines posted for the Sampling Program and intercom announcements.To prepare/organize the cooler/freezer/preparation area for receipt of merchandise, unload trucks, verify the merchandise against the invoice, inspect the delivery for shortages/damageTo develop a weekly labor schedule for all Deli Department employees for the approval of the store manager.To order all deli products and supplies from authorized vendors to minimize out-of-stocks while maintaining the desired deli turns.To adhere to all county, state and federal health regulations and codes instructing those supervised to complyTo supervise/perform/organize the cooler/freezer/preparation area for receipt of merchandise, verify the merchandise against the invoice, inspect the delivery for shortages/damage and quality, sort cases for stocking or product preparation and code-date all case items in the cooler/freezer.To communicate with the store manager on problems, recommendations for change, effectiveness of plans and merchandising decisions.To supervise/perform the preparation, display and packaging of all products in the deli department.To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by the store manager, substituting for absent workers, and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Assistant Deli Managers report to Deli Manager and Store ManagerQualificationsAbove and Beyond Customer ServiceHigh School Diploma or EquivalentPrior supervisory experiencePrior cashier experienceSpecific tasksWork on tile or concrete for a maximum of 8 hours in duration.To supervise/perform the checking of case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily utilizing the time keeping system to record each check.To implement the weekly display plan for display/table/case merchandising and ad promotion.To fill/stock: sliced meat and cheese case, salad case, other display cases, and counter and display tables throughout the store, sort cases for stocking or product preparation and code-date all case items in the cooler/freezerTo wrap, package and sell the product: sandwiches, pizza, salads, sliced fruits, vegetables, sliced meats, cheese, desserts, party trays, garnishes, vegetables, samples and fried foodsTo clean department floors, mirrors, containers, cooler, shelves, slicer, fryer, production area, equipment, and cases.
