Coordinator, Host City Volunteer, FWC26 - Seattle, WA

Department: Tournament and Venue Operations Location: Seattle Position Overview As part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Volunteer Coordinator for Seattle will lead volunteer operations for the host city, ensuring smooth delivery of the volunteer program and enriching the overall experience for guests, volunteers, and stakeholders. Responsibilities Logistics & Operational Support: Ensure operational readiness of the volunteer center, manage logistics, oversee maintenance of back‑of‑house areas, support Volunteer Platform system, coordinate with security, IT, and facilities. Recruitment Operations: Operate volunteer center during recruitment phase, manage the welcome desk, provide wayfinding assistance, respond to volunteer and staff inquiries. Facilities & Hospitality: Monitor and restock food and beverage areas, maintain cleanliness and welcoming environment, report and resolve facility or equipment issues. Volunteer Experience: Maintain welcoming, functional spaces aligned with FIFA standards, serve as on‑site ambassador for the volunteer program to create a memorable journey for participants. Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of education Work Experience Experience in venue operations, hospitality, event management, or customer service preferred. Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with diverse groups. Ability to work on your feet for long hours in a fast‑paced, guest‑facing environment. Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak periods. Capable of lifting and moving light equipment or supplies as needed. Positive, can‑do attitude and passion for large‑scale events and community programs. Ability to create, engage, and foster productive relationships with stakeholders and volunteer groups. Problem‑solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong oral and written communication. Team player, able to work under pressure. Adaptable and able to respond to changing priorities. Work independently and in a cross‑functional team structure. Languages Fluent in English (written and spoken) Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus Technology Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and planning and collaboration tools. Database management tools. * This role is a fixed‑term position with the possibility of extension through July 2026 based on performance. It includes selection & role offer, training & scheduling, tournament operations at the stadium and various city locations. In accordance with Seattle's Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the salary range for this position is $60,000 – $70,000. The range is determined by factors such as education, experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, location, performance, shifts, travel requirements, and business needs.
