MAC Network Operations AdministratorAn organization is seeking a MAC Network Operations Administrator to join its Technology Operations team in a unique hybrid role that blends Mission Assurance Center (MAC) Operations and Network Administration responsibilities.This position offers a 50/50 split between operational monitoring, incident coordination, and service assurance activities, along with hands-on network deployment, configuration, testing, and infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will have a strong networking background, enjoy working in a fast-paced operations environment, and be comfortable collaborating across multiple technical teams to maintain service availability and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesMission Assurance Center (50%)Technology Monitoring & Incident ResponseMonitor enterprise technology environments using observability, monitoring, and event management platformsProactively identify, investigate, document, and respond to infrastructure, application, network, and service-related eventsMaintain visibility into the health and availability of critical business and technology servicesDocument incidents, outages, operational events, and remediation activities within service management systemsOperational Support & EscalationServe as a daytime escalation point for operational support issuesCoordinate incident response activities during service-impacting eventsPerform initial triage and route issues to the appropriate technical teamsFacilitate communication and status updates during outages and major incidentsTrack action items, next steps, and stakeholder communications throughout the incident lifecycleProcess Improvement & Playbook ExecutionExecute established operational procedures and support playbooksConduct monitoring validation, recovery tasks, and system health checksPartner with Infrastructure, Network, and Application teams to improve operational documentation and standard processesIdentify opportunities to enhance monitoring coverage, documentation quality, and operational readinessConfiguration & Inventory ManagementSupport Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accuracy and maintenanceAssist with asset management and inventory tracking across technology environmentsAudit and update ownership, location, relationship, and service information within asset management systemsNetwork Administration (50%)Network Equipment DeploymentReceive, inventory, stage, and prepare network equipment for deploymentLoad approved firmware and software versions onto network devicesConfigure and validate network hardware using established standards and automation toolsSupport network implementation activities tied to infrastructure projects and operational initiativesConfigure management, logging, monitoring, and administrative services for deployed equipmentDocumentation & Administrative SupportMaintain accurate deployment documentation, support records, and operational proceduresPopulate and update CMDB records with asset, ownership, and location informationCoordinate with Network Engineering, Systems, Application Support, and Field Services teams to maintain data accuracyTesting & ValidationPerform device acceptance and readiness testingValidate configurations before deployment into production environmentsTest and support firmware and software upgradesAssist with infrastructure validation activities during network changes and implementationsMaintenance & Project SupportPerform routine maintenance and cleanup activities within network environmentsAssist with troubleshooting and remediation effortsSupport technology implementation projects requiring network deployment, testing, and operational handoffParticipate in project reviews and infrastructure planning activitiesRequired SkillsNetwork EngineeringRouting & SwitchingLAN/WAN TechnologiesCisco Routers & SwitchesInfrastructure SupportNetwork TroubleshootingIncident Response & Operational SupportPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, Information Systems, or related fieldEquivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered3+ years of experience in:Network AdministrationNetwork OperationsInfrastructure SupportService Desk or Operations Center environmentsExperience staging, configuring, testing, and deploying network equipmentFamiliarity with monitoring, observability, event management, and service management platformsExperience supporting CMDB, inventory, and asset management processesUnderstanding of IT and OT cybersecurity practicesCCNA or similar networking certification preferredKey Technical CompetenciesEnterprise Network InfrastructureCisco Routing & SwitchingMonitoring & Observability PlatformsIncident, Problem, Change, and Request ManagementAsset Management & CMDB AdministrationNetwork Device Lifecycle ManagementInfrastructure Documentation & Operational StandardsExperience LevelMid-Level / IntermediateOpportunity HighlightsThis role offers a unique opportunity for a networking professional who enjoys both operational support and hands-on infrastructure work.
