Compensation: $80,000–$95,000 per year

Project Scope: High-end commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, and office construction projects

Work Setting: Primarily office-based with project site visits as needed

The Opportunity

Nicon Build is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support preconstruction efforts for high-end commercial and residential construction projects throughout New York City.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented construction professional who can develop accurate estimates, coordinate subcontractor pricing, evaluate bid packages, and support procurement from preconstruction through project handoff. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced NYC construction environment while collaborating closely with Project Managers, ownership, subcontractors, and vendors.

You will play a key role in helping Nicon Build secure profitable projects by delivering accurate budgets, organized bid documentation, and well-coordinated subcontractor procurement while contributing to the company's continued growth.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid construction estimates for commercial and high-end residential projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate project budgets.
• Perform project site visits and walkthroughs as needed to gather estimating information.
• Develop trade-specific scope sheets and coordinate bid packages for subcontractors and vendors.
• Solicit, level, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure complete and competitive proposals.
• Utilize Procore , Bluebeam , and Microsoft Office to organize bid documents and maintain estimating records.
• Support subcontractor procurement by preparing contracts, purchase orders, and project handoff documentation.
• Assist Project Managers with change order pricing, new work proposals, and subcontractor pricing verification throughout construction.
• Coordinate closely with ownership, Project Managers, vendors, and subcontractors to maintain accurate project budgets and smooth project transitions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within the New York City commercial construction market.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction estimating, bidding, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
• Proficiency with Procore (required).
• Experience using Bluebeam .
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• This is a full-time position requiring full professional commitment . Outside employment is not compatible with this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating commercial interiors, hospitality, retail, office, or high-end residential projects in New York City.
• Experience coordinating subcontractor procurement and buyout activities.
• Familiarity with Autodesk software is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with change order pricing and post-award estimating support.
• Desire to build a long-term career with a growing construction company.
