Job Description
Clinical pharmacists: this role ensures the injured workers are receiving the right care through the appropriate clinical intervention method. Responsible for collaborating with cross functional clinical experts to make recommendations.
Key Functions
• Assessing prescription appropriateness by reviewing patient medical history, drug interactions, and potential adverse effects to identify potential medication issues and recommend adjustments
• Utilizing data analytics to identify trends in medication usage, potential drug safety concerns, and opportunities for cost savings
• Review medication requests from providers to determine if medication should be dispensed or not
• Collaborating with healthcare providers to educate them on appropriate medication use, including clinical guidelines and drug interactions Skills/Requirements
• Strong communication (both verbal and written) and collaboration skills
• Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from a college of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
• Current active pharmacy (RPh) license in good standing
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate clinical data and make informed medication decisions Education
