Account Director

What We’re Looking For We are currently seeking an Account Director to support the Client Services team in meeting their objectives and delivering the highest quality client experience. The Account Director is a solution‑oriented strategist, client counselor, team leader, and growth driver. They will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to mobilize an efficient team and deliver work with measurable business impact while maintaining exceptional client relationships. Growth Driver. Proactive, energetic, and driven to create new opportunities for our clients and the business. What You’ll Do Account Strategy Responsible for profitability, growth, and direction of the client(s) business, including acting as the main point of contact for client matters, proactively planning long‑term for clients, and nurturing strong, trustworthy relationships. Lead and execute all strategic planning activities associated with client programs, contributing to ideation, developing strategic plans, and drawing out best thinking from the team. Effective problem solver, guiding the team toward achievement of client objectives, fostering collaboration, diagnosing situations, and acting as the point of escalation for client requests. Provide strategic insight by staying abreast of industry trends, working with analytics to evaluate programs, and spotting holes in plans to maximize ROI. Adhere to finance requirements, including invoicing, drafting MSAs, maintaining revenue forecasts, budgeting, and vendor budget management. Establish and grow strong relationships with internal and external agency partners. Growth + Business Development Active part of the business development function, identifying and maximizing opportunities for organic growth within existing clients. Work closely with the team to optimize revenue opportunities and maintain relationships with partners to keep the agency front of mind for content and creative briefs. Participate in pitch development and presentations as required. Creative + Editorial Lead end‑to‑end quality control and flawless execution of creative and editorial production through best practices. Present creative concepts to clients with a view to converting concepts into sales. Provide strategic feedback on creative concepts and content topics to the team. Manage pre‑production, on‑location, and post‑production to ensure efficient production and that budget restraints and client expectations are met. Staff Mentorship Act as a positive role model and mentor the team to maximize individuals’ growth and harness each team member’s strengths and opportunities. Work closely with the Managing Director of Client Services to ensure appropriate delegation of work. Contribute to performance reviews and share feedback to improve processes. What You’ll Bring Minimum five years of account management experience; agency setting preferred. Strong understanding of content strategy and experience implementing it across a variety of platforms and channels. Proven track record of developing strong client relationships and approaching business with confidence and awareness. Ability to mine insights that form the basis of creative strategies and content programs. Strong growth mindset with a capacity for delivering above and beyond the client’s initial ask. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to sell concepts and strategy. Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and nurture the team. Commitment to continuous improvement and iterative review processes. Exceptionally personable and positive. Bonus Points Experience in a journalistic or publishing environment, bringing a strong understanding of storytelling and content creation. Individual compensation varies based on job‑related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
