Residence ManagerJoin The Doe Fund on our mission to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism by providing holistic services, housing, and work opportunities to the under-served populations including the formerly homeless and incarcerated, disconnected youth, veterans, and people living with AIDS. Our flagship transitional work program-- Ready, Willing & Able-- integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual's return to mainstream society. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $65 million and a full-time staff of 400+. We are seeking a Residence Manager for The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. Half of the residents will be referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) and the other half will be apartments for affordable to low-income households. The Residence Manager is responsible for the supervision of the residents and the overall operation of the facility during designated shifts. S/he will work collaboratively with the Clinical team and the Program Director to ensure that resident needs are being met as well as the safety of the facility. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and an understanding of working with the HIV/AIDS population. The shifts that we are looking to cover are: Saturday – Sunday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm OR 9:00 pm to 9:00 am.Key Responsibilities:Manage any challenging situations and/or crises that may occur at the facilityFunction as a liaison between the residents and the staff Collaborate with the security staff during the tour of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of the residentsResponsible for handling any incidents that may occur at the facility and completing an Incident Report Form, as neededCommunicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team as well as document them in the appropriate logbookAttend all mandatory staff meetingsEnsure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with FDNYVisually inspect and document all components of the FASConduct and document quarterly fire drillsOther duties as assignedThe Ideal Candidate:You have a High School diploma or GED, some college preferredA Fire Safety certification is preferred (F-02 or F-80)You have at least two years of experience working in social service, residential settingThe ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessnessYou have the ability to work independentlyYou have excellent interpersonal and organizational skillsYou have excellent oral and written communication skillsYou have computer skills – internet and Microsoft OfficeInterested?
