Family Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time)

Family Nurse Practitioner Job Location: Gateways Hospital - Nursing, Los Angeles, CA 90026 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $72.00 - $82.00 Hourly Supervisor: Senior Director of Clinical Services Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt | Union/Non-Union: Non-Union Summary of Position Licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision of a MD/DO, responsible for managing health‑related conditions and coordinating health care treatment through assessment, diagnosis, development of plan of care, implementation of treatment plan and evaluation of patient status. This part‑time role requires Sunday through Tuesday shifts of 8hr or 6hr. Essential Duties Obtain historical information about patient through records and self-reporting. Perform physical assessment/examination both routine, irregular and follow‑up. Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, radiology, biopsy. Provide screenings and interventions appropriate to patient age. Diagnose and treat common medical conditions. Prescribe and furnish medications. Perform individual and group patient education. Complete documentation of patient information, visit history, necessary referrals, lab follow‑up, phone calls, and consults in EMR. Use computer and software programs (including EMR), printer, scanner, and communicate with billing. Communicate effectively with nursing, social work, psychology, nutrition, and pharmacy to maintain an interdisciplinary model of care. Perform non‑clinical tasks as required (e.g., reporting notifiable diseases, patient vaccination, temperature management, maintain clinic appearance). Travel to other Gateways facilities as needed. Chart all patient transactions in accordance with policies and procedures and write orders and record progress notes for physician review. Assist management with identifying, analyzing, and resolving work problems. Evaluate and suggest improvements to existing clinical methods and procedures. Perform daily rounds as required and document patient care orders. Prepare timely, legible, and complete documentation of all patient care in accordance with law, regulation, and policy. Other duties may be assigned or modified as business needs dictate. Qualifications MSN from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program. Current National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC). California license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner and California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing number. Minimum of one year of medically relevant experience or equivalent. Passion for Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center concept and vision. Ability to collaborate with professional colleagues in an interdisciplinary model. Ability to display respect and maintain appropriate boundaries with patients receiving mental health treatment. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). NextGen Knowledge (preferred). Excellent computer skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Requirements Must pass Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigations, and Community Care Licensing background clearance. Valid California driver’s license. TB clearance.
