About the Role:
The Catering / Conference Services Manager plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans for banquet and catering services within the hospitality industry. This position requires cultivating strong relationships with clients, event planners, and corporate partners to secure bookings for conferences, weddings, and other special events. The manager will oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business. Collaborating closely with operations and culinary teams, the role ensures seamless event execution that meets or exceeds client expectations. Ultimately, this position is responsible for maximizing banquet and catering sales while enhancing the venue’s reputation as a premier event destination.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in banquet sales, catering management, or conference planning within the hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a banquet or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of banquet marketing, conference planning, and catering operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hotel or large event venue setting.
- Familiarity with event management software and CRM systems.
- Certification in event planning or hospitality sales (e.g., Certified Meeting Professional).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale events simultaneously.
- Advanced skills in digital marketing and social media promotion related to event sales.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement targeted marketing strategies to promote banquet and catering services to diverse client segments.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
- Manage client relationships by understanding their event needs, providing tailored proposals, and negotiating contracts.
- Coordinate with internal departments including culinary, operations, and event management to ensure flawless event delivery.
- Maintain accurate sales records, prepare regular sales reports, and forecast future sales trends to inform business decisions.
