JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Department: Surgical 10 West

Shift Timings : Night Shift 18:30 - 07:00 Hours

Per Week: 40 hours

This department is a 28 unit, serving general surgical adult population and does have telemetry capability. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit is also supported by PCTs and a Healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Responsibilities:
• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Complexity of Work:
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
• Personal Protective Equipment:
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BLS and ACLS
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Telemetry Ortho experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
• Active unencumbered Oklahoma RN state license
• One year of Cerner experience

Requirements
• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
