Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Gotham Enterprises Ltd, you will work in an inviting and supportive hospital environment. Our rehabilitation center is designed to create a warm atmosphere that fosters healing and recovery. You will engage with patients in various settings, from therapy rooms equipped with advanced modalities to group therapy areas where community and support play a fundamental role in the rehabilitation process. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility based on the needs of our patients and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Supporting licensed physical therapists with the implementation of individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing mobility, strength, and overall physical functionality.
• Conducting therapeutic exercises, guiding patients in stretches, activities, and modalities like electrical stimulation and ultrasound under therapist supervision.
• Educating patients and their families on effective body mechanics, safe exercise techniques, and home exercise regimens to empower their recovery journey.
• Regularly monitoring and documenting each patient's progress, capturing data on range of motion, strength achievements, and functional improvements to refine treatment approaches.
• Ensuring that treatment areas are well-organized and equipped, including preparing necessary equipment and supplies for each therapy session.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists, to provide comprehensive care.
• Providing emotional support and motivation to patients, helping to foster a positive environment conducive to recovery.
• Adhering to ethical practices, maintaining patient confidentiality, and advocating for patient rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with a diverse range of patient populations, including athletes recovering from sports-related injuries, geriatric patients overcoming age-related mobility issues, and individuals with neurological conditions who require tailored therapeutic interventions. Each patient will have distinct needs, and your ability to adapt treatment approaches will play a significant role in their rehabilitation success.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• An Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Nevada.
• In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the various therapeutic interventions associated with physical therapy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build trusting relationships with patients and effectively collaborate with the healthcare team.
