Direct Support Professional

Direct Support ProfessionalReporting to their Direct Care Supervisor & Waiver Services Director, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) will participate in the team approach toward accomplishing the goal of Community Based Services associated with the Waiver program through Arkansas Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS).This is a Full-Time position with the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:30am-8:30am/3:30pm-6:30pm.Must be comfortable transporting individual in wheelchair-accessible van to and from school, events, and appointments.Job Responsibilities:Exhibit compassion, support consumers, and ensure a safe environmentFoster independence in individualsHelp individuals acquire skills, such as social behavior & interpersonal competenceProvide a person-centered care approach to all individuals we supportAssist with community outings, personal hygiene assistance, mobility exercises and meal prepAssist with verbal prompting for communication needs and in home safety practicesRequirements:Must be eligible to work in the United StatesMust be at least 18 years of ageMust have a valid state license or IDMust be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background checksShould exhibit characteristics such as patience, kindness, and understandingAdheres to Myers-Davis' mission vision and philosophy
