Job Description

We have an opening for a Mission Partner Sites Technical Associate to support enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure, equipment, and Mission Partner Sites. This position is in the Information Technology Solutions Division (ITSD) within the Computing Directorate, in support of the LivIT Program.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

You will 

• Work directly with mission partner sites (MPS) and end users to understand operational needs, provide MPS support, and resolve reported problems in collaboration with Networking and Engineering teams through root cause analysis.
• Provide support at mission partner locations, including deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, validating, and sustaining Windows systems and services in operational environments. Travel is required to support activities, exercises, installations, and mission needs.
• Recommend, justify, and implement operational service-level improvements using an approved change-control methodology.
• Work with engineering, management, and mission partners to plan project milestones and coordinate successful implementation.
• Design and deliver creative solutions, resolve problems proactively and promptly, and collaborate effectively across diverse technical and mission-focused teams.
• Ensure service levels are met and maintain high levels of service reliability for MPS-supported systems and customers.
• Define, maintain, and deliver support documentation, procedures, and other resources for mission partners and support personnel.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies, computer security requirements, safety practices, and operational procedures.
• Manage multiple complex, parallel tasks and customer priorities, meet deadlines, and leverage team members’ skills and expertise.
• Use available tools and develop procedures to improve Windows configuration management services and automate complex, recurring tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and extensive relevant experience.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to Mission Partner Sites.
• Comprehensive experience independently deploying and supporting endpoint computing environments, including equipment evaluation, configuration, validation, peripheral integration, connectivity testing, troubleshooting, or lifecycle documentation.
• Broad experience collaborating with customers, management, or technical stakeholders to evaluate requirements, recommend supportable endpoint solutions, or implement standardized computing capabilities.
• Proficient in independently diagnose and resolve complex Windows, application, authentication, networking, or configuration issues in an Active Directory domain environment, including developing original solutions when standard approaches are insufficient.
• Broad experience using PowerShell or comparable scripting tools to automate endpoint deployment, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, or operational support processes.
• Broad knowledge of endpoint management including cybersecurity protocols, access control, secure configuration, technical documentation, or coordination of complex troubleshooting across support teams.

Qualifications We Desire

• Significant experience automating Windows server and Desktop builds.
• Good understanding of how to apply SCCM/MDT/WSUS in an enterprise context.
• Experience with VDI application delivery technologies such as Omnissa App Volumes or similar application virtualization/distribution solutions.

Pay Range

$125,310 - $153,444 Annually 

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
