Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our Radiation Oncology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation treatments to cancer patients, ensuring safe and accurate administration, and providing compassionate care throughout the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities

1. Administer external beam radiation therapy as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
2. Set up and position patients accurately, utilizing appropriate techniques and imaging for precise treatment delivery.
3. Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring that it is functioning correctly and safely.
4. Collaborate with oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to plan and modify treatment plans.
5. Monitor and assess patients for any side effects or complications and provide appropriate support.
6. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of treatment records, including daily treatments and patient responses.
7. Educate patients on the treatment process, potential side effects, and provide emotional support throughout their therapy.
8. Adhere to safety protocols, including radiation protection standards, to minimize exposure to staff and patients.
9. Participate in regular quality assurance checks to ensure equipment and processes meet required standards.
10. Attend team meetings and assist in case reviews when necessary.

Qualifications

• Education : Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
• Certification : ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiation Therapy. State licensure as required.
• Experience : Previous experience in radiation therapy preferred.
