Senior Accountant / Senior Client Staff AccountantThe Senior Accountant / Senior Client Staff Accountant is responsible for managing key aspects of the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of client entities while delivering exceptional client service. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable interacting with clients and internal teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of accounting services.Key Responsibilities:Perform and maintain all aspects of the full accounting cycle for assigned clients.Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.Prepare financial statements and related reports in accordance with client requirements.Analyze financial information and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders regarding accounting matters, deliverables, and information requests.Support managers and senior team members with client engagements and special projects.Participate in four-eye review processes and assist in maintaining quality standards across client deliverables.Support payroll reconciliations and other recurring accounting processes.Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and coordinate with tax teams to provide information required for tax compliance and filings.Support annual 1099 processing and other compliance-related activities.Maintain and update client standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.Identify process inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.Assist with onboarding and informal coaching of junior accounting staff by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, client requirements, and company policies.Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.Key Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a client accounting, public accounting, or professional services environment.Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and accrual-based accounting.Experience preparing financial statements and month-end close deliverables.Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP platforms.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.Preferred Qualifications:Public accounting or outsourced accounting experience.Experience working with multiple client entities and deadlines.Exposure to payroll, sales tax, 1099 reporting, and year-end accounting processes.CPA progress or CPA designation is a plus.What's in it for you?Pathways for career development• Work with colleagues and clients around the world on interesting and challenging work.• We provide internal career opportunities, so you can take your career further within TMF.• Continuous development is supported through global learning opportunities from the TMF Business Academy.Making an impact• You'll be helping us to make the world a simpler place to do business for our clients.• Through our corporate social responsibility program, you'll also be making a difference in the communities where we work.A supportive environment• Strong feedback culture to help build an engaging workplace.Our inclusive work environment allows you to work from our offices around the world, as well as from home, helping you find the right work-life balance to perform at your best.
