Forklift Night Shift DriverThe Forklift Night Shift driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to unload, store, and load cargo. The forklift driver is responsible for practicing safe work habits and for maintaining a clean and safe work place environment.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Operates the forklift in order to efficiently and safely load, unload, and store cargo in accordance with Martainer standardsMoves cargo off shelves and onto trucks in accordance with safety rules and guidelines as stated by the law and company policiesPerforms safety check on forklift prior to start of workday, if any discrepancies are found, report to management immediatelyPulls and prepares pallets for inbound and outbound shipments as per company organizational standardsEfficiently moves and stores cargo in the appropriate areas as requiredMaintains the facility's materials and equipment clean and operational by performing routinely safety checks as well as maintaining an organized work areaCommunicates professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers.Actively participates in safety or educational training as requiredFollows all safety standards & guidelines, including but not limited to, wearing of safety glasses, wearing of steel-toed/safety shoes, appropriate safety gloves as needed, high visibility vests, and proper attirePerforms any other management requests or directives as requestedExperience and Skills1. Team work skillsSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentThis position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This position requires that the forklift driver sit for prolonged periods of time while operating the forklift. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as handheld divices, box cutters and tape dispensers.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and armsThe employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and hearThe employee will frequently be required to lift up to 10 poundsSitting activities are encountered during 75% of the normal work dayWalking activities are normally not encountered outside of normal work breaks and would not exceed 10% of a work dayStooping/Bending/Squatting activities are encountered on a frequent basisKneeling/Crouching/Crawling activities are encountered occasionallyReaching activities are conducted on a frequent and repetitive basis throughout the work dayAn individual may be required to perform twisting activities, dependent on the type of position he need to place himself in while performing his/her job dutiesSpecific vision activities encountered by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full time Night Shift position.
