Automation & Controls TechnicianStockton, CACompensation includesStarting pay rate of $43.03/hourAvailable shift2nd: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday with Saturdays as neededMust be available to train on 1st shift (7am-3pm) for the first few weeks of employmentOverviewDiagnoses mechanical and electrical problems associated with all equipment in a manufacturing environment. Troubleshoots and maintains existing electrical and control systems of existing equipment. Uses basic hand and specialty tools for repair equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.Essential duties and responsibilitiesRead blueprints & wiring diagrams for the installation & repair of equipment and the facilityAnalyzes and resolves electrical problemsTroubleshoots analog/digital electronic control systems, PLC programming, HMI systems and computer network communicationsAssists in directing plant electricians and mechanics as needed to complete repairsDocuments and implements work order procedure for new equipment/technology and the complete documentation of all system modificationsInstalls and maintains Process Control Instruments, both pneumatic and electronicRepairs, calibrates and cleans all instruments, pressure switches, to insure minimal downtime and efficient utilization of pneumatic and electronic equipmentDebugs and modifies programs to make them operationalMajor electrical repairs including 3-phase, 440 & PLC, new installations of equipment, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliancesUses precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools and testing instrumentsInspects and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuitsIsolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or growlerPerforms all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-outEnsures electrical work maintains the integrity of OEM requirementsInspects completed repairsRequisitions new parts and equipmentMaintains a clean and orderly work area throughout the shiftCreates new tools to support production managementRealize new project work as per production departmentQualificationsPrevious related experience with PLC controls and logic circuits is mandatoryHigh degree of knowledge of equipment and aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or educationBe able to perform repairs (including electrical)Trained in lock out/tag out procedureUnderstanding of pneumatic, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, belts and pulleys, chains and sprocketsMust possess or immediately purchase the required tools for this positionMust be experienced in the following areas:Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)Servo SystemsDirect Current DrivesAlternating Current DrivesHuman Machine Interface ControlsIndustrial motion controlsPick and Place AutomationMust be able to read, write & understand basic EnglishMust take & pass (within allowable limits) a mechanical & electrical aptitude testWork environmentConstant noise levels above 85dbConstant dry/dusty (paper) environmentConstant work around machinery & forkliftsSteel toed footwear, safety glasses & hearing protection, hair nets & beard nets are requiredMay experience temperature extremes based on outside temperature#INDQSRCompany BenefitsWhat You'll Get From UsWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
