Responsibilities Report to work in a timely manner as scheduled by supervisor Repair and overhaul equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices, and other similar machinery Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills Maintain legible records of work history Perform general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors Provide preventative maintenance activities; diagnose equipment malfunctions and operating efficiency of mechanical equipment Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups of new installations Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety) Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes Valid EPA certificate 3‑5 years’ experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, display cases, and walk‑in boxes Knowledge of single‑phase compressor components and motor control circuit Ability to use an ohmmeter and verify a capacitor is in good standing Understanding of defrost circuits and schematic and wiring diagrams Ability to properly leak check a single‑compressor system and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems Knowledge of gas furnace system functions and safety precautions Ability to recover refrigerant, change oil in a vacuum pump, hook up a gauge set for evacuation, and report large refrigerant release procedures Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. without assistance and sit or stand for several hours at a time Valid driver’s license and good driving record Proficiency with typical business tools including E‑Mail, Word, Excel Ability to understand and follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable State and Federal laws Join Us Today, there are 27 different companies that make up the CoolSys family of brands.
