Summary

The Repair Technician provides excellent guest services related to the proper tuning, repairing, fitting, adjusting, renting and selling of snowsports equipment. This position is responsible for the general maintenance of rental equipment in addition to the essential duties and responsibilities below.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

• Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm and a genuine smile.
• Deliver exceptional customer service that is consistent and beyond expectations.
• Determine customers' equipment needs.
• Perform quality tunes, mounting, adjustments and repairs to customers' equipment according to established guidelines.
• Adhere to safety procedures regarding use of tools and equipment.
• Complete accurate work order paperwork and prioritize work orders in an expedient manner.
• Ensure pricing is accurate, including any current advertised items and specials.
• Be familiar with the merchandise carried in the store, including brands, key features and benefits, as well as, ability to make accurate suggestions to customers.
• Remain current on ski industry products and trends to share knowledge with customers.
• Attend product knowledge clinics/camps.
• Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Must have the ability to operate a Point of Sale system to complete transactions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be certified in any and all manufacturer or other company's required binding certifications and factory training tuning on an annual basis.

Other Skills & Abilities

Must provide exceptional customer service that is consistent and beyond expectation as well as maintain knowledge of the equipment used and rented.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally working near moving mechanical parts, exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme cold (nonweather).

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Resort Conditions

This is a winter resort area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
