Job Title: Recreation Therapist Profession: Recreation Therapist Specialty: Recreation Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current registration, certification as CTRS or licensure in accordance with state and/or national board standards Certifications: CPR Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance and Movement Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy or Educational roles where Expressive Arts was practiced. Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with an understanding of mental illness. Description: The Recreation/Activity Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned programs. This involves completing an activity therapy assessment. Facilitating patient groups and individual therapy using various expressive therapy modalities. Defining and implementing treatment plan interventions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Additionally, maintaining all clinical documentation. Providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients. A degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance and Movement Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy or Educational roles where Expressive Arts was practiced is required.
