Work Environment

This Physical Therapist role is located onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center in Flushing, NY, where you will collaborate closely with a dynamic team of health professionals. The facility is designed to foster healing and support for patients with various needs, ensuring that our staff has access to the latest therapeutic tools and treatments. We maintain a 40-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, promoting a balanced work-life experience while cultivating a culture of teamwork and open communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients referred by physicians, assessing their physical capabilities and identifying areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment programs addressing a wide range of needs including orthopedic, pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine rehabilitation.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions, ensuring adherence to the treatment plans established in collaboration with healthcare providers.
• Engage in continuous education to enhance service delivery, providing not only physical therapies, but also education for patients and their caregivers on management and prevention strategies.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment while fostering relationships with patients.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment protocols as required, aiming to achieve optimal functional outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and evaluations following regulatory and professional standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will work with a diverse patient population ranging from children requiring assistance with developmental issues to adults recovering from surgeries or managing chronic conditions such as arthritis and neurological disorders. The role requires a holistic view of patient care, focusing on restoring mobility and enhancing quality of life through comprehensive therapeutic practices.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA or CAPTE-accredited program.
• Current state licensure to practice physical therapy in New York.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrated proficiency in communication, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficient with word processing and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to maintain accurate patient records and facilitate communication.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting focused on diverse patient groups can enhance your effectiveness.
• A demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build relationships with patients, helping them to reach and exceed their functional goals.
• Experience utilizing evidence-based methodologies in developing and executing treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 a year, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
