This community hospital is part of a well-established healthcare network serving the Northern California coastal region. The facility provides inpatient care with a collaborative night team model consisting of a nocturnist, an APP, and a resident, ensuring strong support for overnight providers.

Opportunity:
Physician – Nocturnist

Job Details:

• Provide inpatient nocturnist coverage with 7p-7a shifts and 16 patient encounters per shift
• ICU is closed; nocturnists do not admit ICU-level patients
• Night model includes one nocturnist, one APP, and one resident; APP handles all cross-covers and up to two admissions
• Nocturnist assigns admissions to residents, cosigns their plans and notes
• Nocturnist must respond in person to rapid responses and code blues
• Night average is approximately 10 admissions per shift
• Dates of need: 10/20 – 10/25 with an orientation shift on 10/19
• Guaranteed 12 hours per day
• Active California medical license required; licensed in CA only
• DEA required
• Board certified only, or board eligible with 5 years of residency
• BLS certification required
• Clean file required; providers with large settlements, DUIs/drug issues, restrictions, terminations, or Medical Board actions are not eligible
• Current CV, RFA, and 24 months of relevant activity required
• References must be on standby to respond immediately
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 days
• Overtime must be pre-approved by the medical director by end of shift
