Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neuro ICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel ```htmlJob Opportunity – Neuro ICU Travel Nurse – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Weekend night shift rotation every 4 weeks; weekend shifts consist of Friday and Saturday nights (Sunday is not considered a weekend shift); block scheduling is not guaranteed Highlights: Neuro ICU specializing in stroke care, neurosurgery, traumatic brain injury, and complex neurological conditions Patient ratio estimated at 1:1 to 1:2 for high-acuity neuro patients Epic EMR experience required; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and lift teams Advanced neuro monitoring including EVD, ICP monitoring, and EEG capabilities Bedside procedures include tracheostomy, PEG tube placement, central line and arterial line insertion Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Requirements: Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU nursing experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission) Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only) Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring Experience with arterial lines, central lines, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drips, and blood product administration Competency in care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, post-craniotomy care, and traumatic brain injury Trauma Level I experience preferred Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership position) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a specialized Neuro ICU environment caring for a diverse patient population including stroke, neurosurgery, and critically ill neurological patients.
