Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neuro ICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (Night Shift) – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week with every other weekend (weekend shifts defined as Friday and Saturday nights for night shift). 2:1 patient ratio with interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and Lift Teams. Highlights: Complex neuro-critical care including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, post-craniotomy patients, and neuromuscular diseases Advanced skills utilized daily: ventilator management, ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), invasive neuromonitoring, and titration of vasoactive drips Epic EMR system with comprehensive charting and documentation workflows Bedside procedures including tracheostomy, PEG placement, central and arterial line placement, and EVD management Full interdisciplinary team support with dedicated respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Requirements: Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Current certifications: BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only) Epic EMR experience required Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring Experience with continuous IV sedation, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and management of stroke patients Trauma Level I experience preferred Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or director; charge RN acceptable for second reference) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work with a diverse and challenging neuro-critical care patient population in a collaborative, well-supported environment.
