Details Inpatient Phase I PACU setting at a teaching hospital 36 hours per week on night shift, working three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 Potential for weekend shifts, including holiday coverage for night shift No on-call requirements at this time Cares for surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including bariatrics, cardiac, ENT, general, gyn, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, and vascular Manages various anesthesia types including general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, spinal, and post-epidural care Performs cardiac and neurological monitoring, including dysrhythmia recognition and ICP monitoring Administers IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents Utilizes any charting system Requirements Active compact or Ohio RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS also required Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required Trauma Level I experience preferred Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Experience with central line care/management, blood product administration, and IV therapy/phlebotomy Experience caring for ventilated and respiratory patients Skilled in pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, and RASS scoring Familiarity with Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Locals are accepted at the same pay rate Former employees are eligible to return as travelers after being away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible for traveler positions RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines American Traveler Job ID P-724486.
