Scientific Business Unit Manager

Eurofins Built Environment Testing seeks a Business Unit Manager for its Southern California laboratory in Tustin. The role involves full P&L accountability, overseeing laboratory operations, leading commercial growth, managing staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance within a scientific testing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead business unit with full accountability for P&L, sales, operations, profitability, and annual objectives
• Develop and execute commercial growth strategy including sales execution and new market identification
• Build and lead laboratory team with clear expectations, performance management, and professional development
• Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
• 10+ years progressive business leadership with full P&L management responsibility
• Demonstrated success growing revenue, developing new business, and expanding customer accounts
• Experience leading operational excellence and improving profitability and productivity
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management expertise
• Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams with accountability
• Laboratory testing, environmental services, or scientific services industry experience preferred
