Buyer II

We are seeking a motivated Buyer II to join our team, responsible for the procurement of materials and equipment, including electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic components, PCB assemblies, and non-inventory items. The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, report on KPIs, and collaborate with the Global Commodity Management team to enhance supplier performance and tackle supply challenges. Role is 100% onsite in North Reading, MA.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials and equipment from suppliers, including electro-mechanical assemblies and electronic components.

• Manage supplier relationships and report KPIs to senior Supply Chain leadership.

• Provide inputs to monthly scorecards and present procurement data during quarterly business reviews.

• Plan material requirements, manage inventory levels, and schedules in the ERP system, communicating these effectively to suppliers.

• Identify supply chain material risks and provide transparent monitoring of material flow.

• Work collaboratively with Planning to communicate supply chain risks and mitigation strategies to end users.

• Develop efficient mechanisms for monitoring and updating open purchase orders, expedites, and delivery requirements.

• Assist the Global Commodity Management team with supplier relationships and performance monitoring, and address supply issues.

• Resolve purchase order receiving errors and assist with invoice reconciliation.

• Manage supplier returns, including non-conformance reports and return material authorizations.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead cross-functional groups to execute improvements.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with ERP systems, with preference for Oracle.

• Strong procurement, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of data management and databases is a plus.

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

• Ability to work in a demanding, yet collegial environment where teamwork is essential.

Work Environment

This role involves supporting one of three main teams: the GA team, which handles higher volume with more structure; the NPI team, a newer team with less structure; and the MSP team, which manages smaller volumes with more end-to-end work.

This is a Contract position based out of North Reading, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
