Assistant Accountant

Accounting Position

Position encompasses responsibilities such as documenting expenditures, examination, verification, and presentation based on accrual accounting principles and will encompass the handling of ledger entries, end-of-month accounting adjustments and reconciliation of accounts. This role is crucial in aiding the month-end closing process.

Qualified candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal skills, advanced proficiency in Excel, and a demonstrated history of handling multiple tasks concurrently.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Aid in completion of monthly closing activities by processing ledger entries and adjustments
• Conduct reconciliations for Cash and other accounts in the General Ledger
• Analyze, document, and reconcile bank & credit card merchant statements
• Verification of wire transfers and payments
• Complete monthly allocation of corporate benefits
• Execute monthly allocation of corporate credit card expenses
• Assist in conducting day-to-day, monthly, and annual audit procedures
• Utilize ERP system to assess activity in general ledger accounts
• Assist in various one-time projects and support current organizational needs
• Gain thorough understanding of existing methods and suggest enhancements, aiding in their implementation

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Accounting or a related field
• Familiarity with general ledger procedures and basic accounting capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel features (pivot tables, lookups, filters)
• Capable of maneuvering a PC, including internet and software applications, with ease and possessing technical proficiency
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and employ multitasking to achieve objectives
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and think critically
