Human Resources Assistant (OA)

Responsibilities If selected at the GS-05 or GS-06 level, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity Processing a variety of personnel actions for serviced customers. Receiving and answering routine inquiries. Assisting in researching non-routine inquiries. May assist with drafting Job Opportunity Announcements (JOAs). Reviewing applicants to determine applicant eligibility and minimum qualifications. Utilizing a variety of human resources systems and tools. Accomplishing routine and recurring administrative and clerical assignments. Maintaining organization files and records. Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen Tour of Duty: Flexible Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive without access Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non-Exempt Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Bargaining Unit Status: No Selectees are required to have a REAL ID or other acceptable identification documents to access certain federal facilities. Qualifications To qualify for a Human Resources Assistant (Office Automation), your resume and supporting documentation must support: Education Substitution: Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education. See accreditation information. If using education to meet basic qualifications, a transcript must be submitted as supplemental documentation. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, combinations of education and experience may be used for GS-05, with specific calculation rules described in the original posting. Minimum Qualified Typist: Applicants must be a qualified typist (40 WPM). Indicate typing speed on the application; failure to identify your typing speed will result in lost consideration. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience as described below. GS-05 requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04; GS-06 requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05; GS-07 requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-06. Creditable experience includes: Maintaining filing systems, processing personnel actions, and providing HR support at various levels of responsibility. Education considerations: GS-05 may accept four years of education above high school; graduate education may be credited in limited cases where directly related to the work. Experience note: Experience may include paid, unpaid, and volunteer work. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
