Assistant Deputy Chief Appellate Court Attorney

The New York State Unified Court System is seeking an Assistant Deputy Chief Appellate Court Attorney in the Appellate Division, 2nd Department - Attorneys for Children in Brooklyn, NY. This position serves as the supervisor of the Attorneys for Children (AFC) Program at the Appellate Division Second Judicial Department. Key Responsibilities: Administering the panels of attorneys in Kings, Queens, and Richmond Counties assigned to represent children and indigent adults, and the panels of experts assigned to certain Family Court proceedings. Recruiting new attorneys and experts to serve on those panels; overseeing the Family Resource Center of the AFC Program. Administering the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Continuing Education (CE) programs for panel attorneys and experts, respectively. Reviewing and approving vouchers submitted by panel attorneys and experts. Assisting with amendments of the Court’s rules governing the AFC Program as the need arises. Must be able to work in a confidential capacity. Qualifications: Admission to the New York State Bar and One year of service in the Principal Appellate Court Attorney title; or Equivalent legal experience.
