About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Reinsurance Accounting to provide strategic leadership in the management of reinsurance operations and financial activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate reporting, effective risk transfer, and regulatory compliance of reinsurance agreements from placement to settlement. This role involves close collaboration with senior leaders to support reinsurance strategy, as well as partnering with various internal teams such as actuarial, finance, claims, systems, and sourcing. The VP will also be tasked with maintaining internal controls, delivering accurate ceded reinsurance results, and managing a team to ensure documentation and audit readiness. Applicants must have extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a specific focus on reinsurance operations, and hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A strong knowledge of treaty and facultative reinsurance structures, solid understanding of insurance accounting and financial reporting, and proven leadership and communication skills are essential. The role requires advanced analytical and spreadsheet capabilities, as well as the ability to manage complex transactions, explain performance results, and support cross-functional initiatives and special projects. The VP will also serve as the primary contact for reinsurers and brokers, and be responsible for managing recoverables, premium payments, and aging balances.
