Branch Specialist Floater: Travel & Training Leader

Branch Specialist (Floater) We are seeking a dependable and flexible professional to serve as a Branch Specialist, traveling to all Tower Community and sponsor branches, as well as the Member Service Center. The Specialist will perform teller, branch representative, and MSR roles as needed, support branch operations, coach staff, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities Serve as the primary contact for potential, new, and existing members, handling share and loan requests. Perform teller duties and maintain high teller standards across all locations. Interview, evaluate, and underwrite loan applications for consumer and home‑equity loans. Cross‑sell a full range of financial products and services, meeting sales goals set by the V.P. Branch Administration. Ensure proper member identification, eligibility, and security procedures are followed. Provide administrative and data‑entry support, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Tower policies and regulatory statutes. Coach and evaluate new and existing Tellers and MSRs, communicating readiness to supervisors and Operations management. Assist Branch Operations Manager with system enhancement testing, reporting findings, and supporting implementation of process improvements. Offer guidance on procedural changes, training materials, and system upgrades to front‑line staff. Respond promptly to member inquiries, maintain files for a range of products (savings, checking, certificates, IRAs, loans, etc.). Research and resolve account problems and discrepancies, including fraud related to ACH and other activities. Manage safe‑deposit boxes in branches where the service is available, ensuring compliance with policy and security procedures. Assess applicants' creditworthiness, verify collateral, complete disclosures, and prepare loan documents for disbursement. Balance the branch and ATMs, securing all negotiable instruments and ensuring proper vault procedures. Act as interim senior teller or MSR when needed, providing procedural support and sound judgment during member transactions. Assume brief leadership roles (manager, assistant manager, teller supervisor) as required to maintain daily operations and meet performance objectives. Maintain detailed records and reports on sales performance and coaching outcomes. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency certificate. At least one year of direct customer/member service experience in a business office setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency operating a PC in a Windows environment and using Microsoft Office applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of representing the Credit Union positively during member interactions. A functional understanding of security protocols and the ability to maintain confidential information. Valid Notary Public Commission for the State of Maryland (required). Ability to travel and work flexible, variable hours, including weekends and peak periods. Willingness to balance branch and ATM responsibilities, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies. Core Competencies Advanced PC and system usage, including data entry, sorting, extracting, and database interpretation. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of designing solutions for complex, ambiguous scenarios. Leadership and coaching abilities, including training facilitation and peer mentoring. Effective presentation skills for conducting training sessions and group discussions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Commitment to maintaining sensitive and confidential information. Proactiveness in utilizing e‑learning, developmental software, and web/intranet applications. Knowledge of adult learning principles and organizational development concepts. Sound judgment in handling negotiable instruments and branch security. Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and demonstrate dexterity and vision to operate office equipment. Requires occasional lifting of coin bags up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance. Prepared to work variable hours and schedules, including weekends and peak periods, as required by operational conditions. Must maintain a valid Notary Public Commission for the State of Maryland. Expected to travel regularly to all branch locations and the Member Service Center.
