Sewing Repair SpecialistCentury Upholstery Plant 2 - Hickory, NC 28601OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift Day Travel Percentage NoneDescriptionThis position operates a sewing machine, aligning various fabrics and/or leathers repairing applicable parts for upholstered furniture.Essential DutiesAble to sew different product including cushions, borders, backs, flatwork, etc. (top stitch, saddle stitch & welt)Ability to adhere to established sewing standardsAdjust machines to stitch various types of fabricsGood hand-eye coordination, concentration skills, and a demonstrated attention to detailReads and follows instructions to sew specs and notes providedMaintains equipment and work area in an orderly mannerMust be able to work with different types of sewing machinesMust be able to work off production ticket to sew fabric to requestMust follow all safety policies and proceduresWorks as part of a team to meet or exceed production goalsLearn additional functions by cross-training in other departments, as neededQualificationsPosition RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious marking/cutting experience a plusPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
