Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make an impact in a high school environment as a Special Education Teacher supporting grades 7-12 in a rewarding full-time contract role. Located near Woodbridge, VA, this position is ideal for educators passionate about empowering students with diverse learning needs and collaborating with an inclusive school community. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week during the school year, providing essential educational services and fostering meaningful student growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for grades 7-12
- Experience working in a high school setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for students with varying abilities and backgrounds
- Commitment to fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Develop appropriate accommodations and modifications to support student learning
- Track and report student progress, maintaining required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued
