Determines safety training requirements and provides employees with safety training applicable to their work processes. Conducts field audits and observations to drive a positive Safety Culture while maintaining compliance with governing agencies as well as corporate and site initiatives. Investigates accidents to determine the root cause, circumstances and contributing factors. Develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrence. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of government safety regulations. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy and vision of the organization. Two (2) or more year’s experience in a Safety related field (Required) Required Certifications/Licensures: (Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to company and insurers., HAZWOPER 40-hr certification) Job Requirements Health & Safety Management Reporting Incident Response Procedures Emergency Response Health & Safety Standards Health & Safety Policies and Procedures Federal, State and Local Health & Safety Regulations OSHA, ANSI, NFPA Regulations knowledge Occupational Safety Regulations for Environmental Data analysis to identify gaps in processes and procedures Change Management Process Safety Some travel is required within assigned region and to other Delek US sites. Occasional overnight(s) may be required. Possible incident investigations could require working in a variety of weather conditions. Provide expert guidance and counseling on safety related issues for day to day refinery activities by participating in safety meetings, audits, observations and training Apply specific regulatory knowledge and work closely with refinery personnel and management to assure regulatory compliance Conduct incident investigations, prepare written incident investigation reports, and assist in development of corrective actions Maintain, organize and report safety KPIs including leading and lagging indicators for measurement of refinery safety performance Attend and present safety information at Staff meetings, Contractor Safety Meetings, etc. Working knowledge of FMCSA and PHMSA compliance Utilize data gathering software and other technology portals for the management of safety systems Facilitate Pre Job Safety Checklist Reviews Issue Safety Permits for Projects (Safe Work Permit/Hot Work) and/or ensure Operations personnel are trained to issue permits Co-Issues Permit Required Confined Space Entry Permits under guidance from Operations and SR Safety Specialist Project Safety Oversight and Contractor Safety Management Occasional field visits to Terminal/Pipeline locations in the Regions Safety Oversight for the assigned areas under guidance from Sr Safety Specialist or Health and Safety Manager Provide direction to Operations on documentation of the safety Program: Safety Files (SDS, PPE, Hazard Assessment, SWP, JSA) Incident Response and Investigation (including supporting emergency response operations) Participate in policy development as needed Participate in EHS projects as directed Daily Contact with Operations personnel Spill Response Turnaround support and oversight Function as Safety Officer; prepare SSP for spill response under guidance of Senior Safety Specialist While this job description aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the role, it may not detail every task or responsibility required.
