At Millennium Space Systems (a Boeing company), we design and deliver high‑performance small satellites for national security missions. We’re looking for a propulsion technician to join second shift and help assemble, integrate, and test propulsion hardware that goes to space.

Core responsibilities

• Orbital tube welding for tube subassemblies and final propulsion tank closeouts.
• Assembly, installation, test, routing/termination, staking, and wrapping of thermistors, heaters, non‑flight thermocouples, and heaters on spacecraft assemblies using blueprints, engineering drawings/specifications, and AIT procedures.
• Visual inspection of propulsion assemblies per drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Operation of materials-handling and GSE: forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight-vehicle and subassembly transport equipment, and truck/tractor‑trailer combinations.
• Travel as required to support program operations.
• Use of orbital/tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, and a wide range of hand/power tools.
• Close interface with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement, and Shipping on design, method, tooling, cost, and product quality topics.
• Support evolving business needs, mentor/cross‑train new hires, and perform other assigned duties.

Work setting and schedule

• Onsite: 100% at one of our listed locations.
• Shift: Primarily second shift; may flex to alternate shifts to meet program objectives. You must be able to work any shift, as assigned. Official designation: Shift 2 (United States of America).

Role info

• Internal job code: Propulsion Subsystem Manuf Tech Senior | Grade 24.
• Union: Hourly, represented by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721). Probationary period up to 90 days may include required training; continued employment is contingent on successful completion.
• Conflict of Interest: Must satisfy the Company’s COI assessment process.

Minimum qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience assembling propulsion or other high‑reliability hardware (aerospace preferred).
• 1+ year of orbital tube welding.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Fluent reading of drawings, schematics, harness diagrams, and specifications.
• Comfort with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, DMM, depth gauges, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail; able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Experience installing heaters and thermistors; skilled with hand and power tools.
• Experience mixing epoxy materials.
• Clear communication and teamwork; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency.

Preferred qualifications

• 5+ years in aerospace environments.
• 5+ years with orbital tube welding.
• 2+ years installing thermal system components in aerospace.
• 2+ years harness assembly/routing.

• Export Control: U.S. Person required per 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
• Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance; interim and/or final post‑start required. U.S. citizenship required. Role is at a special‑access facility. Millennium is DDTC‑registered and ITAR‑compliant.

Summary pay range: Grade 24: $29.42 – $47.09
