Progress starts with you.Job DescriptionVisa’s Global Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisitions (CDMA) team forms part of the Global function which is collectively responsible for helping shape Visa’s strategy by identifying industry trends, maintaining relationships with relevant external partners, as well as sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and executing strategic acquisitions/investments across all of Visa's geographies and businesses. As the payment landscape evolves, the Corporate Development & M&A team works with regional and business executives as well as corporate strategy to evaluate, analyze, and prioritize Visa’s inorganic strategic ambitions. Corporate Development & M&A team is a key partner of the business executives and is central to shaping the M&A and Investment agenda for Visa.The Manager, Global Corporate Development will support the identification, evaluation, and execution of public and private company acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, and other strategic initiatives. A strong candidate will have foundational knowledge of the payments or fintech industry and early evidence of strategic thinking. Candidates should have experience contributing to transactions across key stages of a deal process, from target identification through closing, and a developing understanding of deal dynamics and typical friction points. They must be collaborative by nature, eager to build internal and external relationships, and able to contribute effectively to cross-functional diligence workstreams under the guidance of senior team members.ResponsibilitiesSupport Visa's growth strategy through identification, assessment, and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, and joint venturesAssist with research into industry trends and specific opportunities for growth within Visa's existing businesses and expansion into new areas. Help synthesize findings into clear, data-grounded points of view for internal stakeholdersConduct rigorous analyses, including valuation and business case modeling, to provide detailed guidance and insight regarding potential acquisitions and investmentsPartner with Corporate Development & M&A Leaders as well as business unit teams on strategy development and opportunity identification, contributing to a systematic and ongoing deal flow processSupport business unit coverage to maintain an ongoing flow of ideas aligned with their strategic objectivesAssist with tracking pipeline, market outreach, and deal flow for ongoing discussions with key business sponsors and stakeholdersParticipate in Visa's detailed diligence processes, partnering with Visa colleagues and external advisors to develop understanding of complex businesses efficiently. Support prioritization of diligence efforts and escalation of critical findings to senior team membersHelp identify and communicate rationales and risks associated with proposed transactions through written and verbal communications, with guidance from senior team members and consideration of Visa's overall interestsSupport the preparation of presentations for Visa's senior leadership that convey clear narrative, outline strategic trade-offs, and inform executive decision-makingAssist the Visa Integration/Separation team on post-close planning and execution activitiesSupport Visa's global industry engagement and deal relationships with investment banking, PE, and VC firms. Develop familiarity with partner companies and assist with coordination of investment and related activitiesContribute to all of Visa's M&A activities, including team culture, Corporate Development and M&A practices, and development of strong working relationships grounded in trust, collaboration, respect, and open assistance with all teammatesDemonstrate strong attention to detail across all work product, including financial analyses, written communications, and diligence materials, ensuring accuracy and quality in a fast-paced deal environmentSome travel is expected as part of the roleThis is a hybrid position. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.QualificationsBasic Qualifications5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhDPreferred Qualifications6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD4+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategy consulting (preferably with M&A exposure), or 3+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, including financial and valuation analysesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with developing experience preparing materials for senior stakeholdersExperience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment with highly motivated professionalsStrong work ethic, passion for learning, and professional curiosity with the ability to contribute to problem-solving both independently and collaborativelyAbility to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and work collaboratively across teamsFamiliarity with payments, fintech, or financial services industries is a strong plusU.S. Applicants OnlyThe estimated salary range for this position is $146,200.00 to $ 233,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
