General Description Of Position
This position is responsible for providing direct and consultative therapeutic services to infants, toddlers, and families so that the child will progress in the acquisition and mastery of functional skills in order to reduce or overcome limitations resulting from disabilities or developmental delays. This position serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team to evaluate, assess, determine eligibility, develop, and carry out treatment plans, document progress and required processes, educate families and community partners, and collaborate with physicians and other care providers.
Pediatric Speech Language Pathologists at Brighton Center may deliver services in a variety of settings, including clinic-based environments and community or natural settings, depending on program assignment and family needs. Final program placement (e.g., Pediatric Therapy Clinic or Early Childhood Intervention program) is determined based on organizational needs and candidate strengths following the interview process. Essential Functions This position requires face to face interactions with co-workers, families, children, and the general public on a daily basis to accomplish all essential functions of the position.
Direct Therapy & Family Support
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to children with disabilities or developmental delays in accordance with an individualized treatment plan.
- Deliver services in individual and/or group settings, using developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practices.
- Educate, train, and coach families and caregivers to support skill development, carryover, and participation in daily routines and activities.
- Provide emotional support and educational resources to families to promote positive outcomes for the child and family unit.
- Complete all documentation within required timelines and in compliance with agency standards and applicable payer or regulatory requirements.
Evaluation, Assessment & Treatment Planning
- Conduct evaluations and assessments using standardized tools, clinical judgment, and observation to identify strengths, needs, and service eligibility.
- Accurately score, interpret, and communicate results to families and appropriate team members.
- Develop and maintain individualized plans of care or treatment plans that include measurable goals, interventions, and outcomes.
- Submit evaluation and treatment documentation in accordance with program, agency, and payer deadlines.
Other Functions
- Support staff development, program quality initiatives, and other duties that advance services for Brighton families.
- Participate in monthly team meetings, discipline, agency, and staffing meetings to ensure family and child outcomes are met and required information is secured.
- Other duties to support the delivery and quality of services that are provided to Brighton families.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Master's degree and current Texas Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access as well as Adobe.
- Ability to meet program-specific training or onboarding requirements within designated timelines.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience in ECI, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a family-centered service organization.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
